New Brick Porch Build in Lichfield – Fully Managed by CJM Building Services
We recently completed this new brick-built porch in Lichfield, creating a more practical entrance to the property while keeping the new addition in character with the existing house.
The project was fully managed by CJM Brickwork & Building Services Ltd from start to finish, coordinating the complete build and associated works so the customer had one point of contact throughout.
Built From the Ground Up
The porch was constructed as a complete new addition, beginning with excavation and foundations before progressing through the substructure, insulated floor and cavity wall construction.
The build included:

substructure and DPC
insulated ground floor construction
cavity brick and block walls
insulation and wall ties
new drainage around the porch
pitched roof construction
roof insulation
tiled roof covering
fascia, soffits and bargeboards
guttering and rainwater goods
new external door and window
paving and external making good
Facing bricks were selected to complement the existing property as closely as possible, helping the finished porch look like a natural part of the original house.
Traditional Pitched Roof
A new pitched roof was constructed over the porch to suit the style of the property.
The roof structure was formed using new structural timbers before being insulated, felted, battened and tiled. White fascia and bargeboards were installed to finish the roof neatly, together with new guttering and leadwork where the porch roof meets the existing house.
The pitched design gives the porch a much more substantial appearance and works particularly well with the existing property.
Drainage & External Finishing Works
As part of the project, we also completed the drainage and external groundworks around the new porch.
ACO channel drainage was installed around the perimeter to help manage surface water, with the rainwater goods connected into the new drainage arrangement.
The surrounding block paving was then reinstated and made good to provide a clean transition between the new porch and existing driveway.
Fully Managed Porch Construction
This project was managed entirely by CJM Brickwork & Building Services Ltd, from the initial groundworks through to the completed external shell and finishing details.
Fully managing a project allows the different stages of work to be properly coordinated and gives the customer one contractor responsible for progressing the build from start to finish.
