Chimney Repair in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, Leicestershire

Recently, CJM Brickwork & Building Services completed a chimney repair project in Ashby-de-la-Zouch after the existing flaunching had deteriorated and begun to fail.

The works involved removing all defective flaunching surrounding the chimney pot and carrying out necessary repairs to damaged brickwork. Three damaged bricks within the chimney stack were carefully removed and replaced before the chimney was rebuilt and prepared for new flaunching.

A new sand and cement flaunching was then installed and finished to provide a weatherproof seal around the chimney pot, helping to protect the stack from water ingress and future deterioration.

• Scaffold access erected.

• Removal of defective chimney flaunching.

• Replacement of 3 damaged chimney bricks.

• Repointing and making good masonry where required.

• Installation of new weatherproof flaunching.

The chimney stack is now structurally sound, weather resistant and finished with a new flaunching detail designed to improve longevity and prevent future water penetration.
