House Extension Construction in Sutton

CJM Brickwork & Building Services recently completed a house extension project in Sutton, providing full project management from the initial groundworks through to completion.

The client required additional living space to improve their home and increase the property's overall value. We were responsible for coordinating and managing all stages of the build, ensuring the extension was completed to a high standard and in accordance with the approved plans.

Extension Groundworks and Foundations

The project began with site preparation, excavation and foundation works. Careful attention was given to ensuring the foundations were suitable for the proposed extension and complied with current building regulations.

Following completion of the groundwork phase, drainage alterations and underground services were installed where required before construction commenced.

Brickwork and Structural Construction

As experienced brickwork contractors, we completed all structural brickwork and blockwork for the extension. Great care was taken to match the existing property as closely as possible, creating a seamless finish between the original house and the new extension.

All load-bearing elements were installed in accordance with the structural engineer's specifications, including lintels and supporting steelwork where required.

Roof Construction and External Works

Once the walls were completed, the roof structure was constructed and tiled to match the existing property. External works included cavity insulation, damp-proofing measures, roofline details and all associated building works required to make the extension weatherproof.

Matching materials were used throughout to ensure the extension blended naturally with the original property.

Full Project Management

Unlike many builders who only undertake part of the construction process, CJM Brickwork & Building Services fully managed this extension project from start to finish.

This included coordinating trades, scheduling works, liaising with suppliers and ensuring the project progressed efficiently through every stage of construction.
